ABC Challenge: T is for Two

Hi there and welcome to another ABC-Challenge!

This time it's T for Two, two images that is!

And this week we're sponsored by Wild Rose Studio

It wasn't hard to think about what images I wanted to use... MAGGIES!! Oh, I so love them and when I bought these stamps at the Art Specially event, I just knew I wanted to use these for this challenge.
I really, really like these ones a lot, specially the backgroundstamp with the stones and flowers.
I didn't use a text on it, just wanted to focus on the image.

Anyways... here's the card for this challenge:

Thank you very much for coming over!
Please take a look at what the other DT-members have made at the ABC-Challengeblog. Thanks!
Plus I would really, really like to visit you, so why don't you just join us??!! Would be so much fun!

Thanks again and see you later!

Mojo Monday... Happy Birthday!

Hi there!

It's been awhile since I showed my last card...sorry!!
Thank you very much for your kind messages after my last post. As said before I'm not a person rambling about personal life on my blog, but this was something I just needed to do, to let people know the Make a Wish foundation, or the Doe Een Wens stichting overhere.

Anyways... I'm back with a card, made with this week's Mojo Monday sketch and wow... I just love this sketch!
Already made 2 cards with it (the other one is the same as this one).

Here you have it:

All materials used are SU, except of the twine. Bought that at the Art Specially Event a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you very much for coming over and see you later! :)

Zeer speciale dag/very special day!

Hi! (please scroll down for the English version of my story...)

Maar back to topic....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I normally would have watched today's marriage of Kate & Will, but I thought this was so much more important!

Normally I'm not a blogger about personal stuff in life, but today it's different.

Maybe you've heard of the Make a Wish Foundation, or the Doe Een Wens-stichting like it's called overhere in The Netherlands.

Today it's World Wish Day, where famous people will be honoured by doing special things for this organisation, so this organisation will have a bit more attention for what they do.

Today there's been given a special award to a famous Dutch person who has expressed himself for the past year for this organisation.

For me it's a special day, because this award has been named after a niece of mine who died very young of CF, cystic fybrosis. She was 1,5 year older than me and the eldest grandchild of my grandparents. Now I am their eldest one, but I always tell people I'm not, I still have a niece.

CF is genetic, it's gen is passed and about 1 out of 30 Dutch people carries this gen, even by not knowing they have it.
You can have a test to know. The chance I carry this gen with me is very, very little as one of my parents isn't a carrier of it. It's all being researched for.

But back to topic :)

As a member of the family I was able to be at the award delivery which was done by the sister of my niece.

I can't say how it was, as I'm still in Amsterdam, it must have been awesome, as I sceduled this post to go online *love blogger for doing this!!*

The reason I wanted to be there is, even it's been 21 years ago, my niece had an incredible day thanks to the Make A Wish Foundation, or Doe Een Wens-stichting.

During those days, people went on a cycling tour to make her wish, being at the making of a very popular 80-90's show, "Zeg eens Aaaa", come true.
She was the first person whoes which came true by the Make A Wish Foundation, Doe Een Wens overhere.
Nowadays over 3700 wishes of children have come true.
Think that's pretty amazing!!

During some conversations with her she told me she had the day of her life and the picture of her with two actors of that show are things I will never forget.

Doe Een Wens is depending on donations of people, companies, etc. they do not get any government support overhere in the Netherlands.

With this blogpost I hope I have made myself clear, that, even though your gift is a small one, you really can chance the life of children who have a life-threatening disease by helping making their wishes come true.

I was only 11 when my niece was buried on her 13th birthday, sun was shining delightfull and the blue grapes were blooming.

I support the Make A Wish Foundation, Doe Een Wens Stichting, because I know it will give children power and I would love this blogpost to make a difference for a child as well, by attending you on this organisation.

Let the wish of a child come a little bit closer!

Thank you for reading this personal story...

DWYT Sketch #83

Hi there!

It's Thursday, 00:00 CET, so time for another DWYT-sketch. Last week I didn't find any time to make one due to busy times at work, but this week... I'm back :)

I used some SU-supplies I had at my desk and when looking through some ordners full of stamps, I came across these "oldies".  Love them! Unfortunately the shop closed a few years back, they always had such an amazing style and just loved going there.

Anyways... here's this week's card:

Thank you very much for coming over! Please visit the DWYT-blog for more inspiration from the DT and I'd love to visit you while playing with this week's sketch.
Oh, next week it will be my turn for the sketch :) Already finished that one, but you'll have to wait till next week *lol*

See you later! :)

Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long April Bloghop

Hi there!

Even though we celebrate 2nd Easter Day overhere I'd like to welcome you to the Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long April Blog Hop.
It's the second time I'm participating and I'm really enjoying it!

If it's correct, you've came here after visiting the Magnolia-Licious Christmas All Year Long Blog, the starting point for today and I'm the first person on the hop this month.
At this blog there's a bloghop every 25th of the month.
And as I really don't like all the stress at the end of the year with making Christmascards I thought this was one of the ways to get a little less stressed :)
So I decided to participate and it also challenges me to use my Christmas Maggies all year long.

Anyways... here's the card I made for this hop:

And a detail of the image with all the sparkles:

Thank you very much for coming over. Your next stop on the hop is Becca and she's got something amazing to share with you!

Thanks again for taking the time to come over and see you later! :)

This card will participate in the following challenges:
- Just Magnolia: Sketch
- The Crafty Pad: Circles
- Paper Sundaes: Pearls and sparkle (please see challenge rules at their blog)

Oldie but goodie stamp on card

Hi there and Happy Easter! Hope you're having a good one!

I'd like to show you a card I made recently. I went through my stash of stamps and found these oldie but goodie stamps from Sweet Ebony. They are one of the sweetest stamps I have in my collection, but have to admit I use them way too little.
I bought this one from someone else, and I'm really happy with this stamp overhere :)

Anyways... back to the card, here you have it:

As the text stamp says: have a Sunshiney day! Hope you're having a sunshiney day or you had one!

Thank you very much for coming over!

Enjoy the rest of your day and see you later! :)

Christmas card

Hi there!

It's way too hot overhere for this time of year but I'm really enjoying it!
Today I'd like to show you a card I just made a few minutes ago. It's a really easy one to make because of the awesome stamps of WaltzingMouse and the nestabilities that fit those stamps just perfectly!
And with a little Stampin'Up goodies, it's easy!

I just came across the WaltzingMouse Sketch Challenge about an hour and a half ago and just knew I wanted to make a card like this.
So here you have it...

Thank you very much for coming over!

See you later! :)

Delft Tile Technique card

Hi there!

I'm not into swapping the way I used to do years ago, but every now and then I like to join a swap and this swap was hosted at one of my yahoogroups where we were challenged to make a Delft Tile Techniquecard. Never tried that technique before and living near Delft, I just knew I wanted to join in all the fun :)

And here you have it... my card...

I wanted to use the blue-white colorcombo as those are the colors used for the tiles (and other stuff you can buy).
Wanted to send my swappartner Dianna a small present with this card. First I wanted to send here a typical Delft tile colored product, but those are way too expensive *sorry*, or I had to buy her a fake one, but don't like those products, I just want quality, so bought her a card from The Netherlands. Hope she will enjoy that as well ;)

Anyways... that's all for now. Thanks for coming over and see you later! :)
